SocialDrift Review – Is It Really Shut Down? The Full Truth

Have you noticed that more and more Instagram growth services are closing down?

In the past couple of years, Instagram’s been on kind of a purge. They are now more than ever trying to get rid of all the bots, which, believe me, are still plentiful.

Some services still manage to pass undetected by IG’s algorithm, but some are not so lucky.

One of the doomed tools was SocialDrift.

In my SocialDrift review, I go into details on what really happened to it. What’s behind the curtains?

Dig in to find out!

SocialDrift – Review Summary

  • SocialDrift shut down for good
  • While it worked, the approach was way too aggressive.
  • To avoid getting banned by Instagram for using a bot, turn to organic growth.
  • Numerous organic services can help you out, e.g., Nitreo or Upleap.
  • Both of them have a code GROW20 that takes 20% off the price indefinitely.

What Is SocialDrift For Instagram?

social drift's former dashboard

SocialDrift closed the doors to the general public back in 2017, and here we are still talking about it. Why?

Well, they sure made quite an impression back in the day.

Besides, it’s always useful learning about these shutdown bots to find out what to avoid when looking for trustworthy services.

So, what was SocialDrift?

SocialDrift was a bot in disguise.

The company claimed to be an organic growth service, knowing that it’s the only kind worthy of your time and money.

They tried really hard to sell a certain image, but all the negative reviews speak for themselves. I was shocked at the number of reviews that start with something like “Social Drift scam!” or “HORRENDOUS, AVOID AT ALL COSTS” (yes, in caps lock).

Nevertheless, I stumbled upon positive reviews every now and then. Honestly speaking, almost all of them sound too good to be true, which made me question their legitimacy. It’s not unheard of that companies pay for glorious reviews that are far from the truth.

So, how do I know it was a bot, besides thanks to the testimonies from ex-clients?

The tool performed generic bot activities – likes, follows, and comments.

These aren’t all that bad – they’ll bring you some traffic. However, it likely won’t be the kind of traffic you want.

Using a bot such as SocialDrift usually attracts fake profiles to your account, and you end up with bots in your followers’ list.

It’s not long before Instagram realizes you’re utilizing a bot. When that happens, you’ll be lucky to get “only” action blocked.

How Does SocialDrift Work?

Many Trustpilot reviews mention that SocialDrift was simple to use, mostly because it was web-based, and it had a user-friendly interface.

This played hugely in SocialDrift’s favor. How many times did you give up using a website cause it looked too complicated and all over the place? Exactly.

Getting Started With SocialDrift

To get started with SocialDrift, all you had to do was:

  • Register on their website
  • Purchase a plan based on your needs
  • Go to the dashboard
  • Fine-tune the filters
  • Leave the rest to SocialDrift

SocialDrift Features

SocialDrift didn’t have a lot of features; not a lot of revolutionary ones at least. Let’s take a closer look.

Automated Actions

The tasks SocialDrift performed on your behalf were the most basic – likes, follows, and unfollows.

There were comments too. However, rarely do these bots have a comment feature that functions properly.

The thing is that bots often leave comments entirely randomly – they don’t have a way of figuring out the context or subcontext of a certain post. This means it leaves inappropriate comments under your name that turn out to be quite embarrassing. Many people just avoid this feature – honestly, it’s for the best.

And how about likes and follows? Did they work?

Well, yes, but not how you wanted them to work.

But this was more of an audience targeting issue.

Targeting An Audience

You’ve guessed it – SocialDrift’s targeting abilities were not up to scratch.

The filters for audience targeting included hashtags, age, and gender.

The latter two oftentimes didn’t work at all cause many people don’t specify their age or gender on Instagram.

As for the hashtags, well, they were useful at times. You could leave specific hashtags closely related to your niche, and that, in theory, could’ve worked.

The problem was that SocialDrift often ignored the filters, and it followed/liked at random.

Artificial Intelligence

I’ll admit – this one sounds intriguing.

SocialDrift was, in fact, one of the first tools ever to use AI to improve performance and mimic human behavior.

Too bad the tool was discontinued before it ever had the chance to shine.

Customer Support

One thing that most SocialDrift reviews have in common is this – SocialDrift customer support was terrible.

It took a lot of effort just trying to get in touch with them, let alone have them help you out with something.

Some customers claim getting a refund was too strenuous, especially when they asked for their money back after the company shamelessly charged them post-unsubscribing.

SocialDrift Pricing

SocialDrift offered two packages. One went for $13 a week, and the other for $39 a month.

The price point was neither here nor there: I’ve seen some more expensive and some a lot cheaper.

There was also a 3-day free trial, although, according to some reviews, it didn’t really work.

Is SocialDrift Legit?

SocialDrift did a lot of shady stuff.

They falsely claimed to be organic, they charged people even after unsubscribing, and they refused to give refunds – to name a few.

For these reasons, I can’t say it was legit.

Is SocialDrift Safe?

Well, no.

A service that secretly uses a bot that can get your account blocked or banned is not safe. I don’t even have to mention the money-related issues.

Top SocialDrift Alternatives

Using a bot is never safe. If you want guaranteed security and the chance to see some real growth, try an organic service. Some of these below, perhaps?

SocialDrift Pros And Cons

To sum it all up:

PROSCONS
User-friendly interfaceNo longer works
Not too expensiveIt threatened your presence on Instagram
Too many false claims
Charged people against their will
Refused to give refunds
Targeting filters didn’t work very well

SocialDrift – Final Word

After reading my SocialDrift review, you may wonder – “Does Instagram automation still work?”

My answer would be – it depends.

If you use an advanced automation bot that perfectly mimics human behavior, then yes, it works.

On the other hand, if you pay for a subpar bot such as this one, it doesn’t work.

That’s why I always talk about organic growth – it’s the only 100% safe and efficient way to grow on Instagram.
